Thursday! What a concept! And what a wonderful day to Wordle. If you're stuck on today's Wordle and need a puzzle buddy, you're in the right place. We've put together some (hopefully) helpful tips, clues for today's word, and the Wordle answer for game #327, which you can find way down the bottom of the page.

Wondering what all the fuss is about? Wordle was created by Josh Wardle, a former Reddit engineer, as a present for his partner. It went super-viral in late 2021, and was bought by the New York Times earlier this year for a hefty chunk of cash. We love to see a nerdboss win.

Has the Times made Wordle harder? Actually, they've been making it easier. As we've reported previously, it's the same old Wordle, with some "harder" words nixed from Wardle original list. If you want it to be harder, you can always switch on Hard Mode, which means you can't make any guesses that don't have previously confirmed letters in them.

Not the Wordle answer you're after? Here are the Wordle answer and hints for May 11.

What's the best Wordle starting word?

Well, there are loads of options. Remember that packing in the vowels early on is a smart way to narrow things down.

What's a Heardle? A Quordle?? A Dordle?!

Yo, if you love Wordle and want some more Wordle in your Wordle, try Dordle and Quordle and the bigger numbers that lie beyond. If you want to play the most maddening version of Wordle possible, try Absurdle — or test your foodie knowledge with the Martha Stewart-approved Phoodle.

Here's how to play old Wordles from the archive

Did you know that the whole archive of past Wordles is available to play online? It's true!

Why are there sometimes two different Wordle answers on the same day?

As we've previously reported, this is down to some changes the New York Times has made to creator Josh Wardle's original word list to remove obscure, potentially offensive, or confusing words. This happened just this week, as the originally programmed word for Wordle #324 on Monday was unexpectedly topical, leading the Times to publish a note explaining the coincidence and telling solvers to refresh their browser to ensure they got the updated version.

Here's a hint for the May 12 Wordle answer:

It's a past-tense version of a verb.

Wordle 327 is a 5-letter word that starts with...

The handiest letter in Scrabble: S!

What's the answer to the May 12 Wordle?

Ready?

Here it comes...

SLUNG.

Didn't get it today? No shame in X-ing out, and there's always tomorrow. See you back here for more clues and tips!
